Comfort in a Bowl – Inspired by Simple Southern Living

Inspired by the welcoming kitchens and wraparound porches of rural Kentucky, our Kentucky Homestead Chicken & Rice Soup is a fresh, heartwarming take on a timeless classic. This mix blends traditional poultry herbs with long-grain rice and garden vegetables to create a bright, home-cooked flavor that tastes like it’s been simmering on the stove all afternoon.

What makes it pop? A simple squeeze of fresh lemon juice added at the end brings it all together—just like Grandma used to do. It’s the perfect soup for cozy nights, family dinners, or anytime you need a bowl of comfort made easy.

Wholesome, simple, and full of down-home flavor—this is the kind of soup that brings everyone back to the table.

Great soup - same price - less ounces

Posted by “Thanksgiving soup” - shrinkflation again on Nov 8th 2025

My family has dubbed this Thanksgiving soup because it smells like stuffing. I am finding many of the soups have almost 2 ounces(!!!??) less than before .. it feels incredibly small and disappointing. Soup is a way to feed a large amount of people and now we are facing shrinkflation here also. You will have to add more of your own ingredients to stretch it further almost voiding the entire reason of buying a soup pack. Tastes good.. but it may not be worth it for some large families. ****ANDERSON HOUSE REPLY*** Hi, thank you for taking the time to write in to us! I'm sort of wondering if you have the wrong soup company? We've made no weight changes to this soup for at least a decade. And we actually DID raise prices in summer of 2025. As a family owned & operated company we are all about being honest and authentic around here so we do apologize if you felt otherwise. We've also never heard the "smells like stuffing" but we're taking that as a major postitive ;) Please give us a call if you'd like to chat more about this 847-688-1200, we'd love to hear from you!

    Delicious!

Posted by Beth on Nov 3rd 2025

This is the first soup we tried from Anderson House. It was very good, and quick to make with few added ingredients. We did not find it to be too spicy. I make many homemade soups because of salt content to mixes. I purchased this because no sodium content! Will purchase this again. Looking forward to the other soups I purchased.

Made the Chicken & Rice soup yesterday. Very good! Made it according to the directions but did add salt to the broth as I normally buy low sodium broth. It was delicious. I would definitely buy this again,

    Surprisingly spicy but delicious

Posted by Laura on Dec 6th 2024

This soup has some heat to it that I was not expecting. I think it’s the green peppercorn. I like spicy food but this is more than just a little kick. I needed a glass of milk. Just a warning for anyone who may be sensitive to heat.
